Dr Eric Nettleton (Newcrest Mining)

Dr Eric Nettleton is Head of Automation at Newcrest Mining, where he supports Automation and Operational Technology strategy and deployments for all Newcrest sites.

Eric is an experienced innovation and technology professional whose career has included both senior academic and industry appointments. He has previously worked for companies including Telstra, NICTA/Data61, Rio Tinto and BAE Systems, and led a Mine Automation Research Centre at The University of Sydney. His core research interests are in Bayesian information fusion, robotics, data science and large scale, whole-of-business technology and automation platforms. These have been targeted to support industry with significant improvements in real world applications.

Eric has a Degree in Mechatronic Engineering and a PhD in the area of information fusion and field robotics.
