Rajitha Athukorala (University of Sydney
Bachelor of Engineering (Earth resources/Remotes sensing and GIS)
Rajitha Athukorala is a DARE PhD student at University of Sydney joining from 2021. He has worked as a Research Associate at Geoinformatics Center (GIC), Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand focusing on remotes sensing and GIS applications for real world problems.
Rajitha has past involvements in projects related to climate projection, modelling, and downscaling, multi hazard risk assessment, and mapping with drones in several countries of central and southeast Asia.
He has also involved in several capacity building programs as a technical lead in remote sensing and GIS applications in agriculture, disaster risk management, and drone image processing for participants from India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Thailand, Laos, and Tajikistan. He is also an Associate member of Institution of Engineers (IESL), Sri Lanka.
Rajitha is also fluent in Sinhala and has translated his bio to celebrate DARE’s cultural diversity.

ඉංජිනේරුවේදී උපාධිය (පෘථිවි සම්පත්/දුරස්ථ සංවේදනය සහ භූගෝලීය තොරතුරු පද්ධති)
රජිත අතුකෝරල 2021 වර්ෂයේ සිට සිඩ්නි විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ ඉගෙනුම ලබන DARE ආචාර්ය උපාධි ශිෂ්‍යයෙකි. ඔහු තායිලන්තයේ භූ තොරතුරු මධ්‍යස්ථානයෙහි (Geo informatics Center -GIC) සහ ආසියානු තාක්ෂණ ආයතනයෙහි (Asian Institute of Technology -AIT) පර්යේෂණ සහකරුවෙකු ලෙස කටයුතු කර ඇත.
මධ්‍යම සහ අග්නිදිග ආසියාවේ රටවල් කිහිපයක දේශගුණික ප්‍රක්ෂේපණය, ආකෘති නිර්මාණය, බහු උපද්‍රව අවදානම් තක්සේරු කිරීම සහ ඩ්‍රෝන යානා සමඟ සිතියම්ගතකිරීම සම්බන්ධ ව්‍යාපෘති සඳහා රජිත සිය දායකත්වය ලබා දී ඇත.
ඔහු ඉන්දියාව, ශ්‍රී ලංකාව, මාලදිවයින, තායිලන්තය, ලාඕසය සහ ටජිකිස්තානය යන රටවල ශිෂ්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යාවන්ගේ සහභාගිත්වයෙන් පැවති ධාරිතා ගොඩනැගීමේ වැඩසටහන් කිහිපයක් සඳහා ද කෘෂිකර්මාන්තය, ආපදා අවදානම් කළමනාකරණය සහ ඩ්‍රෝන් රූප සැකසීම සඳහා දුරස්ථ සංවේද සහ භූගෝලීය තොරතුරු පද්ධති යෙදුම් යන ක්ෂේත්‍රවල තාක්ෂණික ප්‍රමුඛයා ලෙස සම්බන්ධ වී ඇත. ඔහු ශ්‍රී ලංකා ඉංජිනේරු ආයතනයේ (IESL) සහකාර සාමාජිකයෙක් ද වේ.
